2D-scanner

2D-scanners are measuring systems working with non contact. The environment is scanned two-dimensionally.

A pulsating laser beam is deflected by a rotating mirror, which scans the environment in one plane. The single beams are reflected when hitting on objects. The reflected laser beams are analyzed and an image of the environment is created in the scanning plane. Because of its high resolution these sensors can be used for:

  • measuring objects
  • measuring positions
  • controlling areas
This type of sensor is also applied in controlling and navigating driverless transportation systems.
